Privacy policy

Opero Hardware is an online hardware store. It is run by TackOn LLC, a Texas limited liability company. On this page, "we", "us" and "our" mean TackOn LLC.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you visit our store or buy from it. If you use Opero, our restaurant software, or visit operoos.com, the Opero Privacy Policy at https://operoos.com/privacy covers that use.

Who runs the store

Shopify runs the store and its checkout for us. Card payments are processed by Shopify Payments. We never receive your full card number. Shopify also handles your information under its own privacy policy, the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.

What we collect

  • Your order. The details you enter at checkout, such as your name, business name, email address, phone number, and shipping and billing addresses, and what you ordered.
  • Your messages. What you send us when you email us, and our replies.
  • Device and usage details. When you visit the store, Shopify collects technical details, such as your IP address and your browser and device type, and uses cookies. See "Cookies" below.

How we use it

  • To review, fill and ship your order.
  • To email you about your order.
  • To handle cancellations, returns, refunds and warranty questions.
  • To answer your messages.
  • To charge sales tax where we are required to collect it.
  • To check orders for fraud.
  • To run and secure the store, and to comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

If you agree at checkout to get marketing emails from us, we use your email address to send them. You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in any of those emails, or by emailing support@operoos.com.

Who we share it with

  • Shopify. It runs the store, its checkout and card payments, as described above.
  • Our hardware distributor. It fills your order and ships it directly to you. To ship your order, we give it only the name, business name and shipping address on your order, and your phone number if the distributor asks for it to deliver your order.
  • The shipping carrier. It receives the delivery details it needs to deliver your order.
  • Finix, our payments provider. For a kiosk kit, we tell Finix which of your restaurant's payment accounts the card reader is for, so it can supply and assign the reader. If Finix ships the reader to you, we also give it the name, business name and shipping address on your order.
  • Returns and faulty products. To handle a return, a damaged or faulty product, or a warranty question, we may give our distributor or the manufacturer the details needed, such as your order number, the product's serial number, and the name and address it ships from or to.
  • Our service providers. Our own systems, which keep the records described under "What we keep", run on cloud hosting and database providers. Our support email runs on an email provider. These providers are bound to use the information only to perform services for us.
  • Legal reasons and business transfers. We may also share information to comply with law, to enforce our terms, or in connection with a business transfer.

What we keep

  • Your order in our Shopify store. Your full order, with your contact and address details, stays in our Shopify store's records.
  • Our own order record. Our own systems also keep a record of each paid order: the order number, what was ordered, the amounts and the dates. That record does not include your name, email address, phone number or address. If the order is for a restaurant that uses Opero, we may link it to that restaurant's Opero account and location. For a linked order, the record also keeps the order's status from our Shopify store: whether it is paid, cancelled or refunded, the shipping carrier, the tracking number and tracking link, and the dates it shipped, is expected to arrive and was delivered. People on that restaurant's Opero account can see the linked order in Opero with its status; only the account's owners and admins see its amounts.
  • Order messages from Shopify. When Shopify tells our systems about your order, we store its message. That message holds details from your order, such as your name, email address, phone number and address. We empty it 30 days after our systems process it, or 90 days after it arrived if they never process it. The emptied record holds only reference numbers and dates. We delete it one year after the message arrived.

We keep your order records, and your messages to us, as long as we need them to support your order, including warranty questions, for tax and accounting, to comply with legal obligations, and to resolve disputes.

Cookies

Shopify, which runs our store, uses cookies and similar technologies. They make the store work, for example to keep your cart and to run checkout, and they help us understand how the store is used. The Shopify Cookie Policy lists them.

We do not use advertising tools, such as the Meta Pixel, on our store. If we add one, we will update this policy first.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the store, such as the cart and checkout, may not work without them. You can also use the "Your Privacy Choices" link at the bottom of the store's pages.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, or to object to certain uses of it. To make a request, email support@operoos.com. We may ask you to confirm that the request is yours, for example by writing from the email address on your order. We may keep information we need for tax and accounting, to comply with legal obligations, or to resolve disputes.

We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect information. No method is 100% secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the end of this page shows when it last changed.
